A minimum of 1 paper and a maximum of 4 can be taken from two consecutive levels in the order specified, except for the optional papers, C3 - C6 which may be taken in any order. All examination passes will be retained and you can choose to change your optional papers if you wish. Examinations can be attempted twice a year in June and December.

Certificates are awarded on completion of Level B and Level C examinations, as well as on completion of both your examination and practical experience requirement.

COMPUTER BASED EXAMINATIONS

It is possible to sit the Level A by computer based examinations. These examinations can in fact be taken prior to registering with ACCA, and are available outside of the set examination sessions of June and December. The computer based examinations can be taken at ACCA approved Computer Examination Centres. Through this route, you can receive your results instantly on conclusion of the examinations and thereafter register as an Accounting Technician Scheme student.

From April 2001, you can also sit the Level B examinations by computer based examinations. You must be a registered student in order to sit the examinations and they must be taken at ACCA approved Computer Examination centres. However, the examinations are available more frequently than the normal June and December examination sittings and will allow successful students to progress at a faster pace through the examinations.

Registration for Level A

To sit Level A computer based examinations you do NOT have to be registered with ACCA.

If successful in the computer based examinations at A level you can take advantage of extended registration deadlines to apply for entry to the paper-based examination dates:

  • 31 March to be entered for the June examinations
  • 30 September to be entered for the December examinations

Registration for Level B

To sit Level B Computer based examinations you must have registered with ACCA and be in possession of your ACCA student registration number.

Normal registration deadlines apply for entry to the paper-based examination dates:

  • 31 December to be entered for the June examinations
  • 15 August to be entered for the December examinations

Claiming exemptions for passes in computer based examinations

Once you pass Level A or B computer based examinations you must submit evidence of your examination passes to ACCA by:

  • 31 March for the passes to be reflected in their June examination options
  • 30 September for the passes to be reflected in their December examination options

EXAMINATION CENTRES

ACCA operates over 200 examination centres in more than 140 countries at each examination session. Special facilities can be arranged for disabled students, and where appropriate - for example in remote areas or where religion places restrictions on attendance at regular examination centres - ACCA will consider requests to set up alternative examination centres but this may attract an additional fee.
