External Examination :

The current registration fee for sitting CIPS examinations is £44.00 per subject if paid by the deadline stipulated.

Examinations for subjects within each level may be completed in any order but all examinations in one level must be completed before progressing to the next.

Examinations are set and marked by CIPS centrally. All examinations are written but PC’s are not permitted to be used. Up to four re-sits are normally allowed for each subject. Each time you re-sit an examination you will have to pay the exam registration fee again.

You can take as many or as few subjects as you like at any examination sitting, up to a maximum of eight as permitted by the timetable. Examinations are held throughout the world during the third weeks of May and November each year. They may be taken at a location near to you, possibly through a recognised organisation such as The British Council.

It is the responsibility of each candidate to ensure that they register for their examination(s) before the given deadlines. This is done by completing an Examination Entry Form and submitting it, together with the correct examination fee, by the closing date identified on the form. (Normally mid March for May exams and mid September for November exams) Regrettably late entries will not be accepted.

CIPS examination entry form can be downloaded from the following links.

Please select the appropriate exam enrolment form from the list below. Please note that there are different forms for the UK, overseas and some African countries.

Examination results are issued during the first ten days of August and February, and can be accessed on the CIPS web page. Appropriate Certificates and Diplomas are issued within the following four weeks.

All those successfully completing the Graduate Diploma are automatically invited to the next national Graduation Ceremony in the UK, and upgraded to full membership of CIPS, with the right to use the letters MCIPS. The right to retain the use of these designatory letters is then dependent upon your continued payment of the appropriate annual subscription.
