The CIPS Graduate Diploma

Development can continue beyond Certificate level. The CIPS Graduate Diploma is one of the world's leading professional qualifications in purchasing and supply chain management, with entry levels for mature students as well as for those with other academic qualifications. The Graduate Diploma is a degree level academic programme. It is designed for those who are already working in purchasing and supply chain management. It therefore assumes a measure of experience.

The Diploma programme has been revised and a new, updated syllabus is now being offered. The first examinations for this new syllabus will be held in May 2002.

To enter the Graduate Diploma you must be 23 years of age. If you do not hold the CIPS Advanced Certificate in Purchasing and Supply or the equivalent of a BTEC National Certificate, you may still apply but you would normally be expected to have some experience in a commercial or business environment. If you do not have any formal educational qualifications, you will need to include a letter of support from your employer along with your application form.

The Graduate Diploma is divided into two stages – Foundation and Professional.

The Syllabus for the CIPS Graduate Diploma is as follows :

At Foundation Stage there are six compulsory subjects to build and develop a candidate's knowledge of basic management, economic and financial theory with an understanding of purchasing.
